Dear avid readers,
Please do not expect ones usual lighting quick fire posting schedule this weekend as the girls - Salsa and Hulk - have flown North for a family event of some significance.
This of course leads to the weekend becoming a bachelor blur of gaming, footy, gaming, and, for some reason, frantic Sunday afternoon last minute housecleaning?
I shall see you on the other side.

The unread A to Z : B
Continuing on with this little idea one finished the title below a few weeks back.
Born of Empire by Simon Brown
This is another ex-Bibliotech title that has been sitting on my to-read pile for far too long.
It is kind of a cheat on the rules of the A to Z as I'm sure I've read some of his short stories in the collection of Aurealis magazines that Legion2 and I amassed through the early nineties. However it is the first novel of Mr Browns that one has read.
Anyway, Born of Empire is a reasonable read with an interesting style of magic that I give 3 and a half starts to. It took a while to get going and then ploughed through the end. Things are set up for the rest for the obligatory fantasy trilogy however one did find the ending reasonably contained and I believe I shall leave it at this volume and move on to other more enticing reading.

Three Years and Counting
Now the title of this posting refers, not to the duration of lizard-people leadership one shall be enduring after the weekend's exercise in media driven democracy, but to the significantly more joyous occasion of the anniversary of the beginning of the Grand Adventure of Salsa Girl and oneself.
We celebrated the event a week ago with a Hulk free dinner courtesy of Madmog's leet babysitting skills. Hulk, of course, slept through the whole thing so Madmog has garnered herself some babysitting credits for free.
Still for all that celebration not a lot can happen in such a short span of years:
One fully expects the pace of our Grand Adventure to pick up as we continue along our merry way.

- Moving in together including converting man-cave space to our space
- Bringing life into the world in the form of the aforementioned Hulk
- Becoming property moguls, and also pernicious partners in landlording
- Inumerous Ikea expeditions together
One fully expects the pace of our Grand Adventure to pick up as we continue along our merry way.
