... Mr Prada and the Casuals

Well here I am in the classroom while Mr Prada demonstrates the 2.0 23 things to some of our casuals, including the returned-as-a-casual Genealogy Jane.

It's a small group which gives me enough time to complete the image generator things. So:

(246 Alternate Title: Things #10 Image Generators)

I have looked at more than a few of the generators and finally found one that was okay. Then I created this masterpiece:

I think the subject came out of the many trips I make up and down Punt Road.

Anyway I think these are a great way to waste time and maybe have a small chuckle.

... the Week of Business as Usual

Since the last entry I have regained a semblance of my pre-upgrade, pre-floorboarding lifestyle.

I have had TV and gaming ; soccer and weekend sleep-ins; lot's of "hey Phill" jobs moving between branches.

Things out of the ordinary have included:
  • The arrival of our self issues machine for Brighton. After a little wrestling to get it to work after rebooting I have won the battle and it's a well behaved computer - which means it does what we tell it to do not what we want it to do. Suffice to say there is still a little bit of parameter adjusting to get it responding in the way we want.
  • Seeing the French comedy I Do with Rugrat Twin. I still maintain that is not a girly romantic comedy that would be embarrassing to see but a fine comedy which happens to have an expected and not entirely believable romantic twist.
  • A never-ending planning meeting on Thursday. It did include a free lunch sao it wasn't all bad.
  • A Full House for Thursday night gaming - all ten players crammed into a small living room. Needless to say it became more of a social night than a gaming one.
  • Bidding a fond farewell to Genealogy Jane who has wised up and retired from all this crazy library stuff.
  • Free cocktails (actual live cocktails not just beer and wine) at H's birthday bash.
  • A flatwarming gaming day at my new place.
Completely in the ordinary is my lack of 2,0 progress. Oh well there's always next week...

... the Week of Free Lunches

What a long and busy week it's been.

I've spent most of it Training up on the new Library Management Software at our suppliers HQ in the city. Four days of catered lunches and far too many lollies from the bowls on each table! Supervisor S was with me all week and we had guest appearances from Mr Prada, Sonja Roster Queen, Miss Amanda, Genealogy Jane, chanlib, Vikki, Sister Serials, Ms Magpie, Devil's Advocate and a few others.

At the same time I was dealing with settlement on the current house and pre-settlement non-disclosure of upcoming costs on the new flat. It's going to be such a holiday when the property stuff is over and I can relax with the major system upgrade at work.

Thursday night's soccer was a wonderful flashback to my childhood career as the heavens opened up and we were lashed with rain for about half of the game.

The final day of training was topped of with a night of farewell drinks for Jemima from the IT Helpdesk. CC was there as was The Polster and another Canadian CC acquaintance with a J name, coincidentally drinking CC (Canadian Club). Many xx and cokes were consumed but I made it home fine and the ice in the drinks kept my hydration levels at a safe level.

In four days of Train Travel I managed to be affected by a Connex Train delay every day - the worst was 35 minutes sitting at one station on my way in to drinks last night.
